I recently experienced an EDD nightmare regarding thier 800 numbers...they expect you to get back to them through numbers that are never going to go through...so i decided to call backthe (213) number they initially called me from...of course the message says it isnt staffed at that number...however; all EDD numbers from 213...start 477-140*.....so i dialed those numbers then added 1 and so on until i got to 5....wouldnt you know...i got the operator for EDD...and i was connected to the rude person who felt she had life life in her hands and almost didnt assist me until i put her in her place ( I killed her with kindness) long story short i got what i needed...so here is the number they wont give out....until the operator cant handle the calls...im sure it will change soon....
....so good luck and here it is....213-477-1405.

Happy to be the 1st commenter and thanks out smart 'em - you the man! The old "go to" for me was the vietnamese trick - which worked about 60% of the time. Not at all today after about 6 tries. Tried some of the other tricks - garbage today. Anyway, with your main line trick, I had to hold for awhile, but the rep who answered was actually my interviewer 10 days earlier - extreme coincidence, considering she never gave me her #! She stated the she had been out for several days, hence the delay, and that she would call me back today, and promptly did so 30 mins later - that my claim was approved and I would be receiving my debit card within 3-5 days. I will never know if my direct conversation with her increased the speed of the process, but who cares. Getting my money soon and will not be on the street!

I tried the method above and has no luck getting to a operator. Tried the Vietnamese line and got thru 1st time . Now they will most likely want to transfer you to the English speaking line but I was very polite and they assisted me. Hope this helps anyone who has wasted hours on the EDD hot line line I have .

Tried the out smart 'em trick and got through and they told me they do not file new claims in that office! Tried vietnamese didn't get through either. Guess I will go to the Sacramento office and file in person unless someone has a better idea. You see I live in Nevada and they won't let me file an online claim because i filed in Nevada in the last 18 months. So I answered the question wrong and was able to fill out a claim form and got a confirmation # but don,t know whqt will happen when they figure out I did collect Nevada unemployment. what do I have to do hire an agent?
9/24/2013 04:00:39 am
When I had filedI did it online and recieved paperwork the next week
10/25/2013 03:07:31 am

5/7/2014 04:47:29 am
Thanks so much for the tip! I got through super fast. I called the 213-477-1405 and a woman answered in 2 rings. She looked up my ss and then transferred me to another location...was on hold for 15 mins pressing 0's like nobody's business but got my ?'s answered by a nice gentleman. Thanks again:)
11/1/2013 05:32:27 am
Still working as of this post. Answered the phone within 5 min. Got transferred and both people were very nice and fixed my issue fast. Total time 15 min. Way to go!

11/22/2013 01:44:33 am
THANK YOU everyone for posting this info. The 213-477-1405# worked today (11/22/13)...I got through after maybe 10-15 "0's" on my first call (the lady was slightly rude and told me my issue was with BofA). I literally didn't want to let her off the phone since it was like striking gold to actually speak to a live person, but she convinced me she could NOT help. I called BofA and they (of course) told me it was EDD's issue and BofA was correct. Now I had to call EDD again!!! But after maybe 10min of dialing "0's" again on the 213-477-1405#, I got through...I really couldn't believe it, this number is a savior! So get this, I got the same women who was slightly rude the first time. However, she transferred me to another person (Lance) who was polite and helpful. He understood my issue and after a few min. made the updates to the BofA side of things within the database and thanked me for my time.
11/27/2013 02:47:26 am
I was not able to get through on #213-477-1405 today. The signal was busy after the first time I pressed '0'. Last week I tried the Vietnamese number. I was able to get through to an operator. She said she would fix my issue. But I have NOT received my benefits yet after a week!
1/31/2014 07:47:44 am
My compensation amount was based on a job earlier in the year of 2013. My last job in 2013 paid much more, but I received money based on the earlier job which was only about a third of what I should get. How can I get this adjusted?
1/9/2015 04:43:58 am
Vietnamese number still works as of 1/9/2015 after guy says EDD dial 12217 then wait a min and hit 5 then when he is done talking hit 00000 and you will hear music and you've made it... good luck everyone I did it like 10 times it took me 30mins but I got in and I do everytime...ive done it like 10 times and ive done it for my friends it guarantee..... :)
6/12/2015 06:13:11 am
PHONE # STILL WORKS! Brilliant!! Thank you thank you.
8/9/2016 11:05:13 am
I just read your trick, tried and got through. Thanks soooo much!!!!
10/28/2016 11:18:56 am
Oh my goodness thank you!
2/23/2017 09:36:51 am
on feb.23 2017 i called the 213 number and got a rep after 2 rings , gave the S.S number and she helped me.thanks!!
6/12/2013 06:22:11 am
Oh my God!!! How cool was that. Got thru on the first phone number you posted. They transferred me. Thank you so so much !!!
6/17/2013 03:56:36 am
Thank you for your post. I used to always get through the Vietnamese line but I think they've changed the menu & can't get through. I called & then after waiting for an adjuster I got a voicemail. I left a msg & hope to get a call back soon! I'll let u know if I do get a call back.
6/18/2013 09:33:46 am
I was thrilled when someone actually picked up the phone! Unfortunately, my excitement was short lived. They must have caught on to this little trick because the operator simply transferred me back to the 1-800 number. Bummer.
6/19/2013 04:16:00 am
Just an update from Monday's post. I still have yet to receive a call back. I tried the Vietnamese line again and trick 2 worked for me. I did get lectured on not to call this line as it is not fair for Vietnamese. She did help me and I thanked her again for helping me.
10/27/2013 05:09:51 am
Can you tell me what trick you used for the vietnamese line
6/21/2013 03:46:36 am
It does not work if you have never filed for unemployment, as the operator asks for your social, and it doesn't bring anything up. And before you can squeeze in that the website reads "phone call required" when applying, they patch you through the dreaded 800 # that gets you nowhere. (at least for my situation) I will continue to try all the other tricks laid out on this site : ) Wish me luck!! (its Friday and almost noon, and I was laid off Tuesday....day care paid in full for the entire summer, so as soon as I can open a claim, I can be free to set up interview!
6/25/2013 06:46:48 am
I got my boyfriend through to talk to a live person using this trick! He was just disputing reported wages that were wrong. He would never have had gotten his claim forward had he not be able to get through using a trick like this.
6/27/2013 09:27:22 am
Wow! Seriously after trying trying & trying I was actually able to speak to someone concerning my claim!
6/28/2013 03:15:36 am
This worked for me. I was on hold for five minutes and got through to some one. She wasn't very helpful but hey I talked to someone.
This site blew my mind when I simply called the phone # listed as (213)477-1405 on your homepage under someone's comment. I thought what the heck, I'll cross my fingers and try it, and each time I've used it, I've gotten through, you just continue pressing zero to continue to wait while it rings, and it takes no more than 10 minutes to reach someone (vs. NEVER reaching someone- sooooo frustrating!!!!- it's been making me nuts). This method works. I highly recommend calling the (213) number for English speakers. Thank you sooo much!!! You saved me a heck of a lot of frustration. :) Thank you thank you!
10/4/2013 02:12:54 am
This work great it took a while and it hang up on me a few time but just keep trying you will for sure get thr
11/18/2013 02:39:29 am
This worked after a long time of pressing 0. However I finally got through to somebody who told me my claim was actually being processed in san bernardino, so I looked them up in the yellow pages and called that office. Took a couple tries as the first had me leave a voicemail. Second time a woman walked me through everything and got my claims up to date! So amazing!
6/28/2013 04:15:16 am
Mind blown! Got through after hitting "0" a few times to "continue waiting" apparently I missed a check box, I really didn't want to go through the hassle of re-sending a duplicate form and then them saying the forms didn't match (happened to me once before). Total call took about 5 minutes. Lady was very helpful and fixed everything up for me so I wouldn't have to resend the form.
7/1/2013 02:50:08 am
Feel for ya Joey, try the one where you act as the employer, think its 5-1-1-0, I had to open a claim (1st time ever) & had to file by phone. Try it, hope it works. Devoting 4 hours trying to get through to EDD sucks!
1/2/2018 09:16:38 am
Call 800# then 5 for employer then hit 1-1-0 fast. They tell u your wait time mine 2 minutes.whenin 5 minutes my claim was filed.Thank you for trick worked everytime 1/02/2018
Yo Joey, did you call the 213 number? What happened for you? Did you continue to press "0" to continue waiting? I'm about to try tomorrow, just wanting to know why you couldn't get through. I was recently approved for training benefits, but yet to see a payment. Anyone else on the training benefits program that has not received his or her pay?
10/4/2013 03:35:18 am
I got through keep trying it works
7/2/2013 01:34:07 am
Tried the (213) number 5 minutes ago. WORKED. Pressed 0 to continue waiting. Waited literally ABOUT 2 minutes, someone came on, asked for my social. I gave it. Transferred me to another person, asked for social and verification questions. Name, birth, address. Discussed my case with this person. Everything is now cleared up, apparently they sent me a claim form I never filled out. Waiting for interviewer to call and send me new claim form(s). Good thing, gonna receive all back pay. (213) 477-1405 WORKED!
7/2/2013 05:02:27 am
I called the 213 number, the person on the other side said she couldn't help me, it doesn't work for new files...
10/29/2013 04:22:00 am
I have been calling the 1800 number for 2weeks no luck. Saw this post and got right thru. THANK U
5/21/2018 02:57:59 pm
7/2/2013 02:52:27 am
Just tried it at 12:51 ET worked and the gentleman was very helpful and did not lecture me. However I may have helped that I have a veteran claim
7/5/2013 02:25:02 am
This was so easy that it was scary! I was a little hesitant to give my info, I hope this is legit
7/8/2013 02:47:36 am
It took a phone call that went through after pressing about 3 0's. The lady who answered transferred me to a number that rang for a while then just gave a busy signal. I called back again and pressed about 20 0's before getting through. This time she transferred me to a number that rang for a while then was answered. Total time...about 45min. I got my answers and my benefits. Thanks for the tip!!
7/10/2013 09:42:27 am
Yes! Got thru after a few calls; not long at all. One tip; these people on these lines are no nonsense. Not looking for your life story. "I have a question; here's my social, etc." She quickly transferred me to a NorCal number (even though I'm SoCal my claim has always been thru NorCal). NorCal guy placed me on hold to check my records. Then he transfered me to a manager. Got manager voice mail, left message. This was just before noon. At 4:30, the manager called me back. Problem solved. Very polite, but again very no nonsense. Answer their questions, but don't try to have a conversations. Many thanks to this website!
7/11/2013 02:53:19 am
This number works! Got through after 3 minutes, was transferred twice to helpful folks, they resolved my issue and I was done in 10 min total. Thanks
7/11/2013 06:10:43 am
This number REALLY works. I got through on the first attempt. In less than three minutes, I was off the phone and the issue was resolved. Kudos to out smart em!
7/15/2013 02:24:21 am
It works! I called them from 2 phones in the same time and I pressed like 0 like 80 times but i didn't give up! And I didn't believe when I got connected to a REAL people from EDD!! It's something special that you have to celebrate! After 8minutes they resolved the issue and i'll get my benefits. :) thank you!
7/16/2013 05:36:44 am
OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH MY GOD, This works i had to press 0 10 times then a real person that works for edd talked to me A REAL PERSON they transferred to another person after 30 minute wait, but they were able to help me, sort of. But it works
7/17/2013 07:12:54 am
I can not believe this actually worked. Thank you so so so much. I was actually able to talk to a real person.
7/18/2013 09:40:55 am

7/24/2013 02:14:13 am
Couldnt get threw da 1800# after not recieving my benefits on tym. Tried for one whole week. Couldnt get through no matter how many calls I made. It wuld be the same outcome..."due to the maximum callers reached" or dum B*S** like that I called the #(213). And wouldnt u know "*DA EDD OPERATOR ANSWERED**!!!! This # really works on first try. # is (213-477-1405). If not try (477-1404) if still nuttn try (477-1403) then (1402) and so on.
7/25/2013 02:14:58 am
The number works had to be transferred twice though and it took around 20 minutes, but i was able to get my questions answered. Don't call the 800 number since it seems to always be busy and a waste of time.
7/30/2013 02:21:02 am
Today in California, the EDD database is down and won't be back up until tomorrow (hopefully). But I DID get through... to a very frustrated CSR saying the same message to everyone, " I'm sorry Ma'am, our system is down and I have no way to access your information. Please call tomorrow to get your questions addressed." CLICK!
7/30/2013 03:46:29 am
Got threw! Was told the system was down. The number was very helpfull. Thanks for the #
7/30/2013 03:40:46 am
Worked after 10 -0 and another 3 min wait talked to live person finally
7/31/2013 01:47:15 am
Looks like if you didnt get paid this week yet, it's becus the system was down. They said it's back up today and payments should be issued in 1-2 days.
7/31/2013 03:35:43 am
I never got paid this week!
8/1/2013 04:53:53 am
Thanks Mary for the information. :) I was getting worried
7/31/2013 04:29:56 am
It took about 45 minutes to get through but I did. Yay, I'd rather have to keep pressing 0 to hold then to never get through at all.
7/31/2013 08:40:34 am
the 213-477-1405 got me through in 5 min about 6 times pushing 0's
8/1/2013 01:30:09 am
Like a charm- thanks for being here.
8/1/2013 02:28:15 am
Press 1 to continue in English, 3 to file or reopen a claim, 5 to open an existing claim, 7 to reopen an existing UI Claim. It'll ask you for your social and it'll say your call is being transferred. That's as far as I could get before I got this automated response. "Due to the # of callers already waiting to speak to a representative, we are unable to assist you at this time. Please try again later." And then it hangs up on you.......I'll try again tomorrow at 8am and then after 10am because I've called between 9 and 10 and still haven't gotten through.
8/1/2013 02:31:56 am
Woops didn't refresh my page for awhile before I saw all these responses. LOL Guess I'll call the other number. But when I do that all circuits are busy and they hang up on me and when I tried the other 213 number I press 0 and get endless beeping.
8/1/2013 08:29:55 am
Yes it really does work. But sadly when I called they told me my paper work was in the San Diego office, go figure. I was transferred then I was told the adjuster was out to lunch and I would have to call back (s!@t). I was very polite and gave her my sad story and she gave me this........(619) 525-4995. Wouldn't you know I got the operator.
3/24/2016 02:27:18 pm
Thank u so much GO RAIDERS, that number worked it rung once someone answered and got everything taken care of thanks....
8/2/2013 02:16:31 am
The 213 number works! They transfer you a couple of times but you get a live person. My husband hadn't received money since June but kept getting claim forms to send in. He was told that his claim was in a "lag test" whatever that means... but the guy on the phone told him he would release his money. If we hadn't found this website who knows how much longer we would be waiting for money. Thank you!!
8/2/2013 03:42:55 am
its been over an hour!! OMG
8/2/2013 04:56:10 am
I'm with you on that! Been on here for 45 mins.
8/2/2013 04:56:44 am
And it's almost 12! Does anyone know if you can still call after and get through?
11/13/2013 03:23:12 am
OMG!!! on hold after a weeks worth of trying the 1800#
8/2/2013 05:09:17 am
Called (213) 477-1405. It took me 50 minutes to get through, but I still got through. Finally to got someone live after pressing a ton of 0s. She then said she had to transfer me to the San Francisco office. I got a little worried I'd be on hold again, but talked to someone within a few rings. All is well and I'm getting my UI claims sent out. NEVER GIVE UP!
8/2/2013 08:41:42 am
You an angel sent from God, thank you for posting this! It worked for me... I got through in about 3 minutes! At first the automated message said it was busy, but I chose the option to wait and it rang and I got a live person! They transferred me about 3 times and I got to a person that was able to help me. I called about a check I was supposed to receive but hadn't... The guy said they were going to send me another claim form because of a little mistake I made... He fixed it and now my funds will be available within 48 hours. I just got hired for a job and I need this money desperately as I transition into my new job and won't get paid for two weeks. Thank you so much! You seriously saved me sooo much trouble!
8/5/2013 04:41:03 am
No longer works. As of Friday they no longer are "allowed to transfer calls." Anyone know the San Diego office number?
8/8/2013 02:24:29 am
Try this number (619) 525-4995. I'm not sure if it IS the number to the San Diego office but I tried it and it worked (I'm in SD too). I was transferred once but I was still able to speak to a live person so that was a plus.
8/6/2013 01:44:04 am
The 213 number is awesome after calling the 800 line for the first 30 min found this solution and it worked great pressed 0 about 8 times finally got through to a live person. They asked for SSN and answered all my questions.
8/7/2013 05:49:35 am
After hitting "0" over and over I finally reached a person who was very short with me, almost rude, she asked for my SS# for my existing claim filed in MAY! which I'm still not receiving payments on, and she sternly told me my account was not through that office, click... I thought she hung up but then I heard the toll-free recording, she transferred me to the 800 number, oh joy.
8/8/2013 02:22:27 am
After almost TWO weeks of trying to get ahold of someone (All operators are currently busy. With a high volume of calls please try again later..) I finally found this website and can't thank everyone ENOUGH.
8/12/2013 01:54:55 am
I tried the (619) 525-4995 for SD and pessed the "0" three times and was connected to a live rep who was able to answer my questions. This def works! Thx for the post!
8/12/2013 04:28:46 am
i can not get through on the 213-477-1405 someone will answer and say please hold then hang up on me is there any other way to get through? i used the san diego number above me and she transferred me to a number that is no long staffed. i need to get a hold of EDD by the 16th, i am also a veteran so is there any number i can call that deal with those type of claims. I have been calling all morning.
8/12/2013 04:44:55 am
After being hung up on from the automated service I decided to look up the direct lines for Northern California. I'm from San Jose and someone picked up immediately when I called this number just 3 minutes ago. (415) 351-7200. I'm assuming if you're not in this area you might get the same response everyone else is getting that they can't transfer you to your appropriate area anymore. Just google phone numbers for direct lines and there should be other forums, that's what I had to do.
10/2/2013 04:49:30 am
I called the San Bernardino office (909-383-4663) and got through right away, but was told my claim was in the SF office, not sure why, I am in Chino Hills. I then called the SF office and got through right away and the gentleman was able to look up my claim and answer all of my questions. So glad that all of you have taken the time to post the local office numbers, it seems this is the only to successfully get through to a live person. :)
10/8/2013 04:13:35 am
I used to get through on the 909 383-4663 number but doesn't go through any more.
10/26/2015 12:53:11 pm
I got thru on this number today 10/26/2015 - and it was past noon. I just kept hitting "0" when prompted. Took maybe 10 mins - I am from Northern Cal - they helped me no problems.
11/21/2013 02:55:08 am
I tried (415) 351-7200, and it worked! It took about 45 minutes total, but about 30 minutes into the pressing 0, someone answered and eventually was able to resolve my issue. Thank you so much for sharing! I had already spent several hours trying the 800 number, and the (213)...which both didn't work. Thanks again! :)
8/13/2013 03:44:26 am
thank you!! very helpful
8/15/2013 04:58:38 am
Thank you everyone!!!!... its sad that people have to resort to this just to contact the EDD office. The recording today said ext 4 is gone unless you started it before Aug 13th 2013. No advance notice, just dumped.
8/20/2013 03:07:47 am
So easy it was scary! got through on my first try and the lady was quick. Very hesitant to give my info due to the fact that it was so quick.. but it worked!
8/21/2013 02:11:22 am
Didn't work for me. Got through to a person after pressing '0' about 30 times. She told me my claim wasn't handled in that office and that I needed to call the 800 number. Boo!
8/21/2013 03:37:18 am
It took me forever to get through - I FINALLY did on this number - (213) 477-1405, after pressing "0" over and over, about 50 times at least. The woman who answered was unhelpful. She would give me no info and said I needed to get through on the San Bernadino line, and wouldn't transfer me or give me an alternative number, even though I told her I have been trying all day to get through. CA EDD is the worst.
8/21/2013 03:38:31 am
Anyone know of a direct line to the San Bernadino office? Thank you!!!
9/10/2013 03:27:47 am
Hey Marcus it's 909 383-4663
8/21/2013 04:24:47 am
I got through, and spoke with someone but unfortunately my claim isn't out of the LA office. Either way, this number works and I got my answers. Thanks.
8/21/2013 12:16:23 pm
Does anyone know how to figure out what office your claim it out of. I live in riverside . Also, does anyone have any information on if we are still qualify for a separate fed-Ed extention. My tier 4 extention just ended :)
9/1/2013 03:23:31 am
From what I understand, the Tier 4s are over depending upon when it was filed. If you're in Riverside then you're out of the Riverside County office. I would call that number back, and ask for the direct number for the Riverside office.
This DID work phenomenally. I used this number the same day it was posted. Everyone that helped me was fantastic, I've had to use the number quite a few times lately. I used to just be sit on hold, press zero a few times, talk to the operator and then be transferred to the office your claim is located. From what I gather this office handles San Diego based claims? Unsure on that. Also, my calls after 12pm were answered. Wait time:3-15mins (don't forget to press zero!!!)
8/26/2013 02:57:19 am
I called (213) 477-1405, and after waiting about 5 minutes, I got through to a person. They did transfer me to someone in accounting who was incredibly polite and helped me (I forgot to answer a question on my Continuing Claim Form), and even told me what question I forgot to answer. Both people who I talked to were polite and I killed them with kindness. This number is THE number.
9/1/2013 03:27:18 am
Since I received so much help from this number, I thought it only right to submit this site link that lists the phone numbers for the executive offices in EDD. Also, you may be able to email them by using the following format: email@example.com
9/3/2013 01:43:16 am
I got thru on this number by pressing 0 several times but they said they could not help because my claim is in the Sacremento office.... Now what??! Please help :(
9/24/2013 02:19:14 am
same situation with me did you discover a solution
9/4/2013 01:54:21 am
Worked for me! EDD mistakenly thought I began working again and stopped paying me. I thought I'd never get paid again since it was impossible to get through to them to clear it up. Not the case - the operator picked ip at this number and recognized the problem and fixed it. Thank you so much for this!
9/16/2013 07:14:47 am
update: they still havent released the funds to me even though ive spoken to them through this line 5 times now. each time im told they are working on it. I think they are clueless and have no intention on helping anyone. I havent received a payment for over 2 months and im broke!
9/6/2013 03:53:16 am
After pressing zero 15 times i was put on hold. Then a lady took my social and asked if i had a claim. Told her i needed to file one because the website wouldnt allow me to do it and the normal number is overloaded. She asked where i got this number then transfered me to the dreaded machine. Im thinking about lying on an internet claim so i can at least file, then come back to this line and fix it. Insurance fraud here i come
9/6/2013 05:34:07 am
OMG! This it the best thing ever! After having tried relentlessly to contact ANYONE at EDD via all means possible, I came upon this number and got through in about 20-25 minutes.
9/11/2013 02:53:18 am
Ok, so I tried the 213 number over and over and over, both via Skype and my cell phone, and FINALLY I got through!! Sadly there are several issues that need to be addressed, but at least I got through to someone!
9/13/2013 03:55:32 am
Tried the 213 number but it kept hanging up on me after pressing 0 a few times. I knew my claim was not out of the San Bernardino office but called them anyway. I was put on hold right away -- waited about 5 minutes and was told my claim was not with that office BUT I got transferred to the correct office where I was put on hold for an additional 3 minutes.
9/16/2013 01:56:26 am
I finally got through and it was nice to speak to a human however they said its only for people with schedule interviews and they could not answer my questions. They told me to contact the 800 number. :(
9/16/2013 02:44:28 am
I've been trying for half an hour all of the numbers listed in this thread.
9/16/2013 05:32:09 am
Okay this is what I did to get through to EDD. I called 213.477.1405 and told the operator that I recieved a 3 day pay or quit notice from my landlord and that I had not been payed bt EDD in 4 weeks. The operator said sorry you have to call the regular EDD line as this is for interviews. I hung up and called 213.477.1405 and got a different person and told them that I received a 3 day pay or quit notice from my landlord and that I had not been payed by EDD in 4 weeks and she asked my my SS # and then transferred me to someone who transfered me to someone immediately released the funds electronically. She said I was caught in the labor day computer upgrade error. All she had to do was press a few buttons and I was paid. What would have happened if I had not called 213.477.1405? I DOUBT I WOULD HAVE BEEN PAID anytime soon and I be on the streets. Despite what EDD is saying about the error, I think they are lying. IF YOU DO NOT CALL THEM in my opinion about the labor day computer glitch error you certification for the period ending 8/31/2013 is not likley going to get paid before you need the funds in a major way. Call the 213.477.1405 and if the person that answers won't help you hang up and call right back! Be persistent. If you like me, being persistent is the difference between keeping my apartment or being on the street. OH ALSO BY THE WAY 213.477.1405 number worked for me after Noon well after the other EDD number does not work. Good luck. God bless you. Be persistent. I also had called my Assembly man in the morning and they said they were going to contact EDD for me, but I did not wait to see if that would have resolved things. Somehow i bet that would have taken days too. But call the 213.477.1405 and your state assebly mans office and do what ever you have to do. You paid into the EDD system and you deserve help when you need it. Godbless you all I am praying for you and rooting for you!
10/16/2013 05:31:10 am
I had the same issue, but I sent an email to a few of the directors in Sacramento who forced a Specialist to give me a call. I then had to file a TeleCert claim, but I got the funds the next morning.
8/1/2014 01:49:29 am
Thank you so much this worked for me :) they told me my case was in Sacremento and she transfered me to a nice lady that transferred me to this nice male that corrected my question form. My payment will be sent out today and I will receive my money by tomorrow. Thanx this websit has been such a help to me <3
9/17/2013 03:19:17 am
I keep trying the 213 477 1405 number but keep getting a busy signal after a few prompts to hit "0." Sometimes my call is randomly disconnected.
9/17/2013 04:22:18 am
Anyone have a direct line to the Sacramento office? All other numbers are useless as the operators refuse to transfer me to the Sacramento office.
9/17/2013 05:55:51 am
Erin, Sacramento's is 916-683-4400. Same frustations though, hitting zero a bunch, then busy/dial tone, but eventually after much persistance you get through. Pointless for anyone else to call unless your claim is NorCal.
9/19/2013 03:05:02 am
Thanks Melissa. This # helped so much. Went right through. Thanks a million.
12/6/2013 08:45:48 am
THANK YOU MEliSSA! I get through just fine using the 213 number but sometimes it sucks being told "WE DONT Transfer" ;0
9/17/2013 06:05:31 am
The 213.477.1405 phone number works!! I just called it and even though it took 5 - 6 tries I eventually got through. I called around 12:30pm and when they answered I just explained that had not been payed for any claims since the one submitted during the Labor day weekend and they took it from there. I guess it was some kind of system error from that weekend.
9/19/2013 07:32:10 am
I've pressed 10 "0" and i tried the 855 number, this is ridiculous, I was on the 855 number waiting for a live person, nothing......I'm still getting nothing......
9/17/2013 06:31:16 am
I called the number 213 477 1405 after just a few tries Bingo a human been asked me for my social a few seconds later toll me sorry this is not the right office you need to call the office in San Jose call the regular 1800 she hung up .Then i found here the number for the office in San Bernardino 909 383 4663 assuming the letters come from there I got thru right away a very nice lady toll me this is not the office but i will transfer you to the right one and when enter "0" i was disconnected. Then I call 415 351 7220 somebody that lives in San jose posted here at that number another nice lady toll me this is not the office you need to call this number "are you ready" sure 408 46 5603 and next she transfer my call when i pressed "0" disconnected after a few minutes i tried the number she gave me and finally i was at the right office !!!!!! THanks for this web and everybody this numbers WORK keep trying God Bless.
9/17/2013 12:25:18 pm
I called the 800 300 5616 and pressed for Spanish and go through. Once today and once last Thursday. Just speak English and the y will help you. It's been give weeks since I got paid and they said it should take another two weeks.. So frustrated but at least I got through.
9/18/2013 01:13:28 am
Anyone have a number for the orange county office. It appears that they assign them according to SSN# and the OC office is the one that handles my claim. Called San Bernardino but they wouldn't transfer me or give me the number.
9/18/2013 06:51:24 am
It works. I had to press 0 about 10 times and then she asked me for my social. I was transferred to a busy line and had to call back. This was at 2:00 PM so the regular line was long gone.
9/19/2013 05:03:37 am
I tried every number especially the 213-477-1405. I can't get through at all. It rings a few times then the automated system lady comes back on and ask if you want to hold then it rings some more before finally giving you a busy signal.
9/19/2013 08:41:25 am
I tried the 213-477-1405 number and finally got threw, but I was asked to wait on hold and then they sent me to the 800 line. After reading the post I figured it was bc I was outside their area... I live in Temecula. So I looked at my phone bill and figured out the number 714-783-1502. Once I got someone on the line it worked like a champ!!!
9/20/2013 02:16:23 am
This doesn't work anymore
9/19/2013 02:41:28 pm
San Diego number works!!!! Thank you so much
9/20/2013 02:12:02 am
It works. Just keep trying. Sometimes you will get the busy signal. Just hang up and keep trying. Redial and press 0 until someone answers. It's a lot faster to know whether youre getting connected or not compared to the 800 number. This number definitely works. Thanks so much!
9/20/2013 04:36:06 am
Help! I got through after 40 minutes and spoke with a kind representative, however she informed me my case was located in the Inglewood Office. I live in Northridge! She wasn't able to give me their direct line. Does anyone have this number?
10/15/2013 07:01:38 am
does anyone have the direct number to the inglewood office? i was told the same thing.
9/23/2013 02:50:22 am
Got through to a live person who would only transfer me to the usual 800 number. No help at all from this number. Additionally my file has been flagged that I am only to use the 800 number. I have determined that as of today there is absolutely no way to get through to the EDD by phone at least from the Los Angeles area. I will have to go in person to one of their physical locations. The delay in payments is now over 8 weeks behind and all due to EDD errors. Now I know why some people hate the government. This is ridiculous.
9/24/2013 04:13:17 am
try the 714-783-1502,press 0 tell them what you are calling about and it should be that simple.
9/25/2013 03:18:49 pm
Republicans in Congress want you to hate government. That's the whole purpose of tax and budget cuts. To sabotage the government. It's not the EDD's fault.
9/23/2013 03:41:10 am
Just keep trying people. It really works. just call bk to bk
9/23/2013 04:22:10 am
I called the (213) 477-1405 number today nonstop from 9:14am to 9:54am. Got the busy signal several times after pressing 0, but just kept redialing (22 calls in total compared the the 98 calls I made to the 800 number). Finally knew I got through when I heard waiting music instead of the constant ringing. The operator who answered transferred me the the lady who had conducted my interview about two weeks ago. Success in getting through to a live representative, but dismal failure in actually getting anything resolved. Supposedly, due to the new processing system put into effect on September 3rd, many people's claim data is being rejected in some kind of error. IT has not yet resolved the issue. At least now I have some "answers."
9/23/2013 10:03:38 am
I just got through after being on hold for 20 minutes. This works! They hadn't paid me for three weeks, and I couldn't get through on the main line. Saw this number on the site and got through!!!! The man was very helpful and my claim form is coming through this week. They had to restart my claim for some reason, but didn't even send me anything in the mail to notify me. They really need to revamp the system.
9/24/2013 12:48:47 am
I've been calling the 855 number and a female keeps calling, they just say your claim is in OC office, no one wants to help.i sent in form on 09/09, why was webcert only one wk 09/08-9/14, im getting very concerned
9/24/2013 01:25:29 am
9/24/2013 - So I called a couple of minutes before 8am and did the 6-7-1 trick. (Where after you hear the long greeting, you push 6-7-1 immediately) I got through! I was her first caller. Here is a huge update: She said that, DUE TO THEIR COMPUTER CONVERSION, THEY ARE NOT MAKING PAYMENTS UNTIL YOU CALL IN OR THEY GET THROUGH TO THE 100,000 PEOPLE IN THE SYSTEM. She said it's been all over the news ...
9/24/2013 02:18:55 am
What number did u call Mitch?
9/28/2013 03:54:40 am
The 800 number. Guess I just got super lucky!
9/24/2013 02:38:01 am
Tried the 213-477-1405 and kept having to wait and press 0 and sometimes would get the busy signal and have to hang up and call again. Tried the (714) 783-1502 and spoke with a man right away...within a minute. He told me that he was in the overpayment dept and would try to help me. He got my social and transferred me to the right dept within 1 minute. I was on the phone with a very nice and helpful woman within 2 minutes of call the 714 number. I'm sure the 213 number works, but the 714 number is MUCH faster. Hope this helps :)
9/24/2013 03:58:29 am
So, I have been trying to get a hold of a representative for about a month now I had tried all the tricks you can find and the only one that has worked for me was calling the 715-783-1502! They are very polite and i was on and off the phone in 10 minutes. I even just called back to get a question answered and it was just as fast. GOOD LUCK
9/24/2013 05:04:30 am
10/8/2013 06:14:50 am
I just used the 213-477-1405 (Los Angeles #) and was finally successful on my 7th call. On the 1st 6 attempts, I kept getting disconnected after hitting 0 to continue to hold, so I kept calling back. On the 7th and final call I had to hit 0 to continue holding approximately 30 times. I was also transferred 2 times once I got a live person. The whole process with the repeated calls and finally speaking with someone took about 40 min. That is a long time, but, considerably better than the 800-300-5616 ph# listed on the crazy contradictory letter I received from EDD. When I called that ph#, I never even got past the message telling there were too many callers waiting and to call back later. Thank you for all the suggestions/comments and I wish all of you the best in contacting EDD and ultimately finding your perfect job!
9/24/2013 05:41:04 am
The 714 # definitely works!!! My heart nearly stopped when an actual human answered the phone. They ask for your social and transfer you a few times and you are golden. Super fast and very helpful. I'm shocked it was that easy. It took no more then 10 minutes. I'm so glad I found this site!
9/24/2013 07:41:00 am
Call (909) 383 4325 they helped me and they were very nice
9/25/2013 04:32:36 am
2 months they didn't pay me once!!!!! I get a job and try to discontinue this USELESS service and they are too good to answer the phone!
9/25/2013 04:39:50 am
* they don't respond to emails either, they're too good to do that. 0 out of 20 were responded to.
9/25/2013 07:57:42 am
If you're trying to open or re-open a claim (and have worked out of state), these numbers will not help you unfortunately. They'll give you the "we don't do that in this office" runaround. Since I worked out of state two weeks ago I can't file online, and in the words of one of the workers, I'm "SOL".
10/2/2013 02:06:19 am
When it asks: are you Presently in California... you say yes.. ""because you are over the state line on your lap top""..wink*.....thats for the web site calming bro
9/25/2013 09:17:55 am
I tried everything since 9/10 and could not get any info. I called the foreign language numbers, the 4606 Self Help line, etc. I sat there and redialed 5 days a week, from 8-noon.
9/25/2013 09:22:04 am
BTW: I have a friend who has waited 7 weeks and just got paid for 1 week of benefits (why just one week?). They are stringing out the payments a week at a time to keep her exactly 6 weeks in arrears at all times. Her claim forms are only for one week of benefits at a time.
9/25/2013 09:22:28 am

9/26/2013 02:01:56 am
Just called the 909 383-4325 number Yriz posted.. It rang 5 times got someone who put me on hold. wish me luck!
9/26/2013 02:12:01 am
Got someone but they weren't helpful! Then got transfered to the 800 number
10/15/2013 03:40:43 am
FINALLY it worksssss as of 10-15-13 I have been calling for 1 month and I finally spoke to someone thank you...so muchhhhh
9/27/2013 12:15:32 pm
Finally got through after LOTS of rings and a repeated recorded apology for my waiting, and then more rings. The guy I finally spoke to was very understanding and helpful...I thought. He said the web-cert would now work for my continued claim form... but, alas, I have to call back on Monday morning. Hopefully this time the issue will be addressed. But thank you for a number that actually reached a person!!
9/30/2013 01:25:22 am
I got through with the 714 number. The operator reluctantly transferred me but knew I called in through the direct line. I ask for her pity and got it. Yeah!
9/30/2013 09:51:59 am
OMG! these people succ! why do they make it so hard for people to get threw! some lady just hung up on me after waiting for almst an hour. ugh pinches culeros huevones hijos de su pinche madre. ;) lol
10/1/2013 03:20:22 am
none of these numbers worked. they either didnt let me through or run ad infinitum. i pressed zero more than a dozen times on the 714 number
10/1/2013 08:06:54 am
10/2/2013 04:39:07 am
It finally worked. I had to call 4-5 times because it kept getting the busy signal and hanging up on me but I got through. They transferred me 3 times so it took about 15 min for the whole call. Thanks!
10/4/2013 05:19:47 am
called 909 383-4325 and finally got through to a person but when they put me on hold the calls gets disconnected! will try again wish me luck
10/7/2013 05:41:52 am
I can't thank you enough for posting the San Diego number!! My husband had not been paid since 8/20 and we have been trying to get through to someone for weeks. After 7 attempts today and pressing 0 about 10 times or so he fianlly got through to someone who was very helpful and informed us that for some reason he had been kicked out of the system during the update process. The number we used was 619-525-4995...keep calling and don't give up. We did have a few people who said they couldn't help and kept switching us around but we were on a mission. Thank you again!
10/8/2013 06:50:37 am
THE 213 NO. WORKS! JUST KEEP HITTING 0. I PRESSED 0 ABOUT 5 TIME BEFORE GETTING SOMEONE TO ANSWER.
10/8/2013 01:15:41 pm
Thank you so much!!! I tried the 213. Umber numerous times and would get someone, but would get switched to a different operator, kept pressing 0 and waiting, and got through to someone that helped solve my problems which had to do with a hold on funds do to me not receiving my edd card in which I did, they handled everything after the long wait and even answered my questions as far as training, I probably would have gave up if it weren't for you guys,, many blessings
10/9/2013 01:23:09 am
Called the 213-477-1405 number. Got through the 10th time. The lady on the other line was a little mad asking how i got that number. Told me not to call that number again or i could get disqualified. She transferred me to another line rang about 5 times then it disconnected me. She didnt tell me who had my claim, but apparently they dont. What other numbers are there to call. Im in the Ventura county area
10/11/2013 02:15:58 am
Anyone having problems getting disconnected a lot on this number?
10/11/2013 02:26:19 am
That San DIego number works!!! I got through on the first trying the 800 number for serveral days. Thank you for posting this!
10/15/2013 05:20:35 am
213 number worked thanks. It took 20 mins and about 30 0's just keep trying.. Someone answered asked for my s.s.# put me on hold for couple mins. Then an adjuster picked and straitened out my claim.
10/16/2013 06:51:03 am
Got thru, finally on the 213 number. Tried at 8 am, did not get thru until after 10 am. Got two women reps, took my SS# and transferred into a black hole and had to re dial, a few times. Got thru in 5 minutes or so. Issue with address of last employer and my current address. All set. Been a this for almost 2 weeks. I'll tell you what Iearned. The (EDD) system is a mess, and it is very easy to complain and blame them. But we all know it fix it, or get us the results we want (which is getting the money). Envision the end result of having your money, focus on the end result, and that it can be easy. We are responsible and create all things in our lives, all things.
10/16/2013 06:51:52 am
Thank goodness for this site and everyone's comments....I got through!! : ) I first called the LA# 213-477-1405 (after 1:00pm) since I am in Lancaster, I had to hit "0" at least 5xs, someone did answer I was brief and said I received a letter to call about 2 rejected claim forms. She took my SS and said I was based out of the SD office and transferred me. I hit "0" at least another 15xs and I did get someone who helped me get paid! If you work part time the computer doesn't always read the entries well. But now thankfully I have the direct number to the SD office 619-525-4995 in case it happens again.
10/17/2013 01:37:35 am
213 477-1405; she took my SS#; then would not listen, got irate that I called that number and transferred me to the 800#. Then I tried 714 783-1502 BEGGED, PLEADED, so sorry to bother you but can you PLEASE help be. I've sold my jewelry and TV's to pay rent and am going to be homeless if I don't get paid. She told me I have to call, email, go to my local office (which I have) or send a letter by mail. I pleaded some more and apologized saying I know they work really hard with limited resources but if I lose my apartment, there is no hope of finding a job ~ it's game over for me. She took pity on me and said the claim forms I hadn't received since 9/1 would be mailed out. The indignity of it all. Thank you for this website!!
10/17/2013 04:02:23 am
Trick is to get your direct line #'s to your assigned office, then go through the 0's of waiting....if it's your assigned office, likelihood of being helped is greatly increased. My home claim office assistant, Mila, very helpful, in the San Diego office. Live update, informative, knew the lingo of EDD world....most important she was breathing.
10/17/2013 04:38:14 am
This didn't work for me. After a few days of trying I gave up. Printed the de 1101 forms and faxed them. While waiting for a response I've spent a couple hours in the morning for the last week trying a new trick. It worked today. I GOT THROUGH. The faxed forms hadn't even been filed into the system after a week! Here's what worked for me: call 1 800 300 5616. If the message starts with "thank you for calling blah blah blah" hang up. Call back until you get the message starting with "welcome". Press 1 immediately and when the guy starts talking again press 671 fast. It will ask you to put in your ss#. After this you will either be asked to call back due to high call volume (which is what happened to me the first 30 times) or they will give you a wait time. Today I called 10 times and finally got through. Only waited 3 mins and spoke with a friendly lady who sent me over to "special claims" where a mean sounding lady answered in a foreign language. I figured I was forwarded to the Vietnamese line and quickly explained I had been transferred to her. She didn't sound happy but filed my claim. Said I should receive info in the mail within 10 days! Success! Manifest what you want out of your universe! Watch the secret.

714 number worked. I got disconnected after the 1st operator transferred me but the 2nd time I got transferred to a lady who actually helped me. She said the new system for some reason didn't release the funds so she will print out the form and turn it in to a manager so the funds can be released. I tried getting her direct number but she said she can't give it out because they don't handle adjustments and my call wasn't supposed to go to her. We'll see if the funds actually get released.
10/21/2013 01:55:14 am
Wow, the 213 number totally worked! It took several tries but I got through to a live person who was going to transfer me to the 800 number when I requested pity because I wasn't able to get through though I had tried for two weeks every day. I was transferred to another operator who then transferred me to a wonderful real live woman who took my SS number and got my claim information completely straightened out in 10 minutes and informed me that my missing claims would be available on my debit card within 24 to 48 hours. Yay!! Good luck all, but know that there are actually sweet helpful operators out there who can help. Don't give up!
I tried all the numbers given by everyone, the 1-213 477 1405 might work but I myself did not get through, I also tried the 714-783-1502 and a man recording came on every time saying there is no staff to talk to at that number, then I tried 415-351-7220 and finally I actually got to hear a live person. At this moment I am on hold but atleast I am waiting to talk to a person. Thanks to everyone who took the time to care about sharing this information,I was at a loss not able to get this going,I needed to talk to a live operator so so badly to continue my claim process. Wish me luck that this goes all the way through to where I need it to. Good luck everyone out there.
10/23/2013 05:45:04 am
out smart em's Trick (Direct Line) worked. I called 213-477-1405 and kept pressing 0 to continue. After approx 30 min I got a voice operator who took my SSN, stated that I needed Pacific Center (I knew that..I just could never find the number) and transferred me. I got another voice who took my SSN and transferred me to a very nice man who took my SSN, Name and stated that I could 1) call back after 1pm PDT or 2) Give him my information and expect to receive a call back in 48 hours. When asked for the number to call back after 1pm PDT he gave me 714 782 1385 (Pacific Center). I plan on doing that shortly. Good luck to all of you! :)
10/29/2013 02:31:44 am
Thank you so much for giving me these numbers, here is my experience. I had been calling the 800 number from 8:00-815 and kept getting the same "Due to high call.." message and the line would disconnect me. I found this page and decided to try the 213 number, the first time I called I pressed 0 a few times and got 2 operators who asked for my SSN - after that I kept getting disconnected when I would press 0.
10/29/2013 03:52:19 am
After reading here, I called EDD in SF 415--351-7200. After about 8 minutes of hold music, a nice lady picked up, asked for my SSN and then told me my claim office was the Orange County office - 714 782 1385. She also transferred me. I'm currently in the "our operators are currently busy" loop and pressing 0 every 45 seconds. I'll update when/if I get through.
10/23/2013 07:30:35 am
Out Smart Em's Trick (Direct Line) worked..all the way through. I have been 'Adjusted' by a lovely lady at Pacific Center. I do feel for the individual employees there and everywhere throughout the system. I myself am unemployed because my company installed a interfacing system before it was tested and caused 'Untold' problems. 'Telling' got me fired. Thank gawd it wasn't Kerr-McGee and I'm not Karen Silkwood.
10/23/2013 08:15:25 am
The number that worked for me was 415-351-7220 you have to hold forever but an operator answers and then they transfer you to a claims agent that solved my problem.
10/25/2013 02:05:55 am
Lady told me my claim was part of the pacific center anyone have that number
10/29/2013 09:16:01 am
Worked for me! This morning could not get through with .2 tries. This afternoon got through no problem. Thanks!!!
10/30/2013 05:07:06 am
YOU ARE MY LIFE SAVER!!!
11/1/2013 05:08:34 am
For the most part these people are so rude. What goes around comes around so they should really think about that while assisting people. No matter what number I have called just plain ole' RUDE. Got through on the 714 # but was never able to fully ask a question cause the rep kept cutting me off in mid sentence and threatened to suspend my claim. Told her not to suspend my claim and I would call the 800 number.
11/5/2013 03:58:15 am
I just called to the 714 number and the lady really helped and gave me another number 18663628854 I believe she said it was the accounting dept and I got thru right away I just went to the ID verification menu and listened to the entire long message and after it asked if I wanted to speak with a rep. It got me thru right away in less than 2 mins.
11/14/2013 02:12:54 am
This verification line does work but they transfer into the holding pen, which is better than not getting in at all
We should be flooding the governors office with complaints. Contact your local news too! Shameful the way the unemployed are being treated. None of these tricks work now. The only thing that will work is media attention.
11/8/2013 01:13:07 am
It worked! Oh my god, I almost cried when I finally got through to a live person! Took several tries, was disconnected several times, but finally I got through. I have been trying to get through ALL WEEK - hours of my life wasted. I am so so grateful for this tip!
11/13/2013 02:43:06 am
About to try some numbers now, wish us luck. we've been trying EDD for 3 weeks now everyday calling 4 hours straight. So tired of Redial!!
11/13/2013 02:43:37 am
I have called the 1800 and tried the 5110 trick nothing.... I started to call the 17147831502 got asked my ssn and put to hold 10 min and still nothing. At the same time i am calling 4153517200 bin on hold for the last 15 min..... I am going crazy ..... What can i do !!! Please help !!!!!
11/14/2013 02:18:16 am
did you get through?
11/15/2013 12:35:46 am
11/18/2013 03:10:30 am
Thank you, the 213-477-1405 to EDD worked great. I had to call back about four times but I got my benefits back. Life starts again.
11/19/2013 01:02:33 am
If you live in San Diego, DEFINITELY try (619)525-4995! The first two times I called, I got the busy signal. After my third attempt, it rang and I had to press "0" to continue waiting only twice and I got through to a representative! She was rude, but I got the answer I needed.
11/20/2013 12:55:17 am
After 8 days of constant redial trying to reach EDD, I tried the 213-477-1405 number. I was on hold for 5 minutes and reached an operator (LA office) who transferred me to an operator at the office handling my claim (SF).
11/20/2013 02:14:53 am
Outsmart'em, I think I love you!!! This worked after some totally frustrating experiences with the 800 numbers (automated system has been down for days and as everyone knows, getting a human on the line is near -- if not absolutely -- impossible).
11/21/2013 01:09:54 am
(619) 525-4995 san Diego edd office called today got thru to real person who transfers me to a real person after days of calling everything fixed in 15min. Good guys but swear this us a good number for now till they shut it down.
11/21/2013 02:49:21 am
For the los Angeles Branch Phone # , its 213-744-2137. I was told by a lady to call the 1800 to file a claim. If I cannot get through then I would have to go to
11/22/2013 01:02:09 am
Worked like a charm!
11/22/2013 01:27:36 am
does anyone know the direct line to sacramental ca. for the interstate
11/22/2013 02:25:18 am
Contact your local state assembly person to file a complaint. That is the only thing that worked for me. Got a call from EDD within a few days...just make sure that you answer your phone even if it says "blocked," because they won't leave a message.
12/4/2013 02:31:59 am
i believe in the "pay it forward" ideal. I've came across this blog due to the frustration on contacting the EDD via the 800#. its best to get through to an edd person via the county where your documents are porcessed. i.e if your continued claim form was from San Bernardino ca., best to call their number. mines was actually from there. Ca Dept Employment Development
12/4/2013 03:24:18 am
Got right through on the San Bernardino number. Thanks Jan!
12/10/2013 02:52:11 am
OMG they just re issued my claim forms they weren't sent out yet, But the number really works i just had to keep calling over and over till they answered.213-744-2137
12/13/2013 02:41:38 am
I was STUNNED when this worked! Since original post was from the summer, I was concerned. Took 10 minutes & hitting 0000000 every time the recorded voice asked me if I wanted to continue holding. Someone should do a news report on how attempting to get through to EDD causes INSANITY. I'm literally in my pjs from two days ago- 800# makes me CRAzY. Note: i did write the wrong employer name info on my claim. Lady on phone was able to fix & was extremely NICE.
Takoda76s this works, since I've b
12/16/2013 02:13:50 am
I called from 8:00 am - 10:12 am and after pressing "0" 5 times, someone answered and said, "EDD please hold" and now I've got elevator music. I'm crossing my fingers that this works since I have been waiting since November 7th for them to process my claim. Thank you so much Out Smart Em!!
12/19/2013 01:04:00 am
Thank you sooo much! I've been calling EDD's 800 number for a week now with the same message over and over. It was an emergency since I didn't receive my claim after filing 2 claims. I called this number and the whole process took me 45 min but so worth it. I called the number and pressed 0 until I got a hold of someone. She told me it was bc I checked a wrong box that led to having my claims on hold and to have to wait a week for edd to have a line interview with me. I told her I had made the mistake and she kindly transferred me to someone who could make the correction. I waited for a bit but got through and the corrections were made and my claims are on unhold and back to normal! Thank you so much! This was super helpful! (213) 477-1405
12/26/2013 05:19:01 am
thank you !!! I called the 213-477-1405 got through on approx the 12th try - I was so surprised -- the guy that answered was very helpful and was able to confirm that my claim had been accepted ! after trying the edd # for approx two weeks - the 213# worked !!! thanks
1/2/2014 07:16:53 am
OMG- after waiting for 12 weeks to get my money I finally found this number and used it! I got transferred three times but got to the right person! They were very helpful. This is a sin that the hours are so limited. The 213 number was great!
1/6/2014 08:45:36 am
Out Smart Em's pretty smart. When I initially read how you figured the remaining number, I appreciated your due-diligence. Sure enough, it worked.
1/8/2014 12:51:10 am
it worked after pressing zero four times to continue to hold, whoo its amazing, thank you
1/13/2014 02:22:54 am
It worked! It Worked! I wasn't getting through first thing in the morning but seems later in the morning was a better time to call. The woman I spoke with was on top of her game to get me all set up. I have yet to receive my debit card or any benefits and I filed over a month ago.... I am so so grateful that I stumbled upon this site! Who knows how long I would have been waiting to get through to someone. Don't give up!
EDD Users Suck @ Working
1/15/2014 02:49:51 am
FYI - it's Jan 15 2014 and the above number(s) still work. Highest success rate are the (213) numbers. You should expect to wait AT LEAST 1 HOUR and be disconnected after pushing 0 about 10 times. Simply redial and keep on hitting 0.... you will get through eventually. Also if you are re-applying for EDD you will need to wait about 3 weeks TOTAL to get back into the program.
1/15/2014 04:55:06 am
used the 714-782-1385, got redirected and got through.
1/15/2014 08:21:31 am
you all should really take a look, there much info that anybody can find useful...its real and really works
1/24/2014 12:39:31 am
714-782-1285 worked 1/23/14 after 5 try's and a couple transferred. Got an answer within 10 mins! Thank you!
1/28/2014 12:34:17 am
Just tried 213-477-1405 and after about 10 times calling back, after getting busy signals, it worked!!! Thanks so much!!!
1/31/2014 01:35:34 am
1-31-14 Thank you all for all the posts here, they helped me get thru. Vietnamese line worked like a charm for me too. 1-800-547-2058. Then the magic numbers 1-2-1-1. Called phone number, listened to Vietnamese message and at end of message I pressed 1. listened to next message end and I pressed 2 next message ended I pressed 1 next message ended I pressed 1 then music began playing and I waited about 6 minutes until a live person answered in Vietnamese, I said hello in English they responded in English and spoke to me in English and helped me. Note: an earlier post said press 1-2-1-1-7. Pressing 7 will disconnect you. I was disconnected three times after pressing 7. My fourth attempt I only used 1-2-1-1 and I got thru.
909 very limited info
1/31/2014 03:01:37 am
I spoke to a very nice man who put another nice lady on the phone. She informed me that she cant make any decisions regarding a claim or even handle the claims. The 909 number is for employers. That's what I was just told on jan 31, 2014.
1/31/2014 04:03:14 am
This is why we don't want government running anything but police, fire dept and military. Can't wait till we all go the Federal govt 1-800# for Obamacare!! Stop voting for politicians promising us more free stuff with our tax $$. For DMV, go to AAA...get real private sector help with people that treat you as customers and not subjects...ughhh...
2/11/2014 03:38:59 am
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.
2/19/2014 04:06:36 am
Ok I tried this 213# and sure enough I got a hold of someone but she said their office doesn't handle my claim, but I did get a bunch of info out of her so that helped.
2/21/2014 01:51:36 am
I tired this number to get through to disability for maternity, they did not handle it but actually connected me to the disability center and avoided 1 800 number. Thanks for posting this!!!
2/21/2014 03:54:06 am
As of 02/21/14- this back number is still working- thanks!!!
3/10/2014 03:31:32 am
This is what worked for me, wait time was ONE minute! call the 800 number. press 1 for english, then 6-7-1, when asking for your social security number, press ALL ZEROS (9 zeros). Then it will transfer you!
3/20/2014 01:16:32 am
I called this number and someone answered after two rings. Easiest call to EDD I have ever made. Thanks!
4/8/2014 03:49:38 am
The Vietnamese # worked for me! I listened to a man's voice for about 2 minutes, on hold for about 3 minutes, while listening to piped in music. I got through & was helped right away....
5/8/2014 04:14:51 am
Thank you SOOO MUCH - it is May 2014 and I used the 213 number. I got through right away, but was then transferred to the San Bernadino office because that is apparently where my claim was handled. I had to push "0" several times and it kept looping through to ringing and then asking me to hold, but after only about 10 minutes I got someone on the line who helped me immediately. This has been a LIFE SAVER. Thank you everyone !!!
5/21/2014 11:28:25 am
Used this phone number on 05/21/2014 after 6 failed attempts to reach the EDD via their 800 number at 8 AM. Used this 213 number and was automatically connected to an operator and then an EDD employee whom was able to help me immediately!!! Thank you so much for this miracle number!! If not for this trick, I would still be SCREWED. God Bless :)
5/28/2014 02:38:16 am
Thank you so very much for this number. I called on 5/28/14 . After pressing 0's for about two minutes I got through to a very nice lady who answered all my questions. Make sure to have researched all your questions first to save time. Not sure but I may have spoke to a manager of some kind because she had to open up her system first which took a few minutes.
6/5/2014 03:50:27 am
Thank you soo much for posting the 213 # ! I had been trying to contact EDD for weeks, so frustrating! I called the # kept dialing 0 for 20mins, I was so excited to hear a real person. Unfortunately this was not the office that was handling my claim, but she was nice enough to transfer me to the correct office. Once again I had to keep pressing 0 for another 20mins. Until a man picked up. I told him I was confused by the contradicting paperwork that I had recieved * one letter saying that I was not eligible for benefits because I did not verify my identity (which I had sent them a copy of everything they requested drivers lic., a letter from social security, ect.) *another Letter with the start date of my claim & my weekly benefit amount. He was just as confused as I was, so he put me on hold to wait to talk to an adjuster. So, again waiting, this time over 30mins. But finally the adjuster got on the line. Thankfully this woman "Brandi" was very nice as she listened to me. She put me on hold to research my claim. When she came back the first words she said were " I need to apologize there was a mix up on your claim, someone dropped the ball when processing your identity. I am authorizing the release of benefits right now & will sending you claim forms so you can get start geting paid." Wow I just got an apology from EDD & they are actually taking responsibility & not trying to blame me. Yes I'm iritated that this even happened but I am just happy to get it fixed & the apology does help too. Thank you again for posting the # it saved me.

BEWARE Do not call 415-351-7200. I called, the guy asked me my ss#, I was friendly and offered it right away after which point he lite into me, demanded who gave me the number of that EDD office, said I was violating the policy by within the EDD that gave me the opportunity to collect UI , then he hung up.
7/23/2014 01:40:15 am
This works really good as of now as well. Thank you so much. I tried ao manytimws with the 800 number no matter what time u call you can never get through. I called this number they tried helping me then transfered me to the office that was handling my claim. Thank you
8/5/2014 01:26:59 am

8/6/2014 03:13:36 am
Thank you!! It worked!
8/14/2014 02:14:05 am
Had to comment as an update since this post was a while ago - used it this morning - pressed 0 about 10 times or so (don't give up!!) got through, the woman IMMEDIATELY said "EDD, Social Security # please?" gave it to her and she transfered me to a similar thing where you press 0 to hold (you have NOT been sent back to the same place so don't worry!).
8/18/2014 01:41:07 am
thanks David for posting these numbers.
8/21/2014 05:27:05 pm
8/25/2014 02:11:20 am
it has worked twice for me
10/27/2014 07:46:24 am
They answered in one minute and you guys weren't kidding when you say the lady was a B&%ch!!! She said they paid me twice, well I never received anything...same as above you need to call BofA!
11/10/2014 02:39:45 am
With the 213-477-1405 number I got a live person after just three times pressing zero!
11/12/2014 03:55:46 am
Called '213-477-1405', got the agent in less than 5 minutes. I just needed the payment statements and the agent was able to order the statements for me. All done in around 5 mins.
11/19/2014 01:04:10 am
I just want to say thank you so much for this! I literally hit zero at least 15 times and thought it wasn't going to work.. and then it did! The lady picked up and transferred me to the San Diego office who in turn transferred me to a lady who fixed all of my issues!! This took 10 minutes start to finish, when I spent almost 20 on the automated system because it said my ssn and pay didn't match!!! Life saver!!!
12/10/2014 03:12:26 am
Just tried, got through to someone but said they could not give out any information over that line. :/
12/19/2014 12:27:48 am
Ty Ty Ty. This was a life saver. Called 213 # & hit 0 13 times to continue holding but I got a live person. Will be saving this # in case off future issues.
12/19/2014 01:23:54 am
It worked! I dialed one time. Pushed zero 5x and got a real live human being. Asked my question and am having a wonderful day! Thank you!!!!!
1/9/2015 05:04:33 am
Thank YOU!! Still works in 2015!!
2/5/2015 03:01:35 am
Worked for me! Only took 5 minutes to get through :)
6/1/2015 02:15:48 am
Thank YOU!! Only took pressing 3 times to wait and less than 5 minutes a nice woman answered... Still works in 2015!!
6/2/2015 02:10:24 am
I would just like to add my thanks. I used the 213 number and it did take pressing 0 around 15x, but ultimately I did get a live person to help me. It took some transferring between a few different people, but they were all very helpful and I believe that my issue has now been resolved.
7/1/2015 01:26:06 am
This trick still works. I was hesitant to believe it would, but it did! Saved me a trip to EED. I did have to wait about 10 minutes. Keep pressing "0" when asked if you would like to hold for an agent. When an EDD rep. did come on the line she took my SS# and then told me my claim was at another office. But she did answer my questions and then connected me to another LIVE EDD person at the office where my claim is. Thank you for this TIP!
7/14/2015 01:53:47 am
Worked liked a charm! Good through instantly. Thank you.
7/30/2015 04:25:26 am
It actually worked! I had been trying to call all morning then looked up "ways to get through to edd" clicked on this, tried it and it worked! It took me to a different office but they transferred me to the right one. Thanks!
8/11/2015 03:59:42 am
Worked great. Got me through to a live person quickly, who then transferred me to the office that handles my case. Pushed 0 a few times and got a super helpfull lady who handled all my issues including reversing an error in certification and getting me my money in time to pay rent
8/12/2015 03:32:21 am
Worked! Had to talk to three people and press 0 several times, but they got it worked out. I'm so thrilled.
8/21/2015 01:26:19 am
Still works. I got through within 10 mins and they gave me the number I needed to get the info. Thanks!

11/20/2015 02:42:25 pm

And you were right about them being jerks lol the lady I got was so rude not anymore rude than the first lady though she told me ill pay you today but this cant happen again I was like EXCUSE ME ITS MY MONEY I WORKED FOR IT! Lol but thank you again!!
12/30/2015 01:13:42 pm
I called the number and it worked! THANK YOU!!! But the operator was being really rude. I get that they probably get annoyed with all the phone calls but still they should keep it professional! I was able to speak to a real life person but he was no help unfortunately.
6/1/2016 08:39:14 am

Just an update- the 213 is the number for the LA office. They cannot help with reopening claims. They just refer you to the main 800 line. FYI

January 24, 2017 -- The number still works. I wasn't trying to file or reopen a claim, but I was having trouble and needed customer service. Got it. It went right through after dialing the number and I only needed to hit "0" only once.

Thanks you for the 213 number and fyi, it actually worked! I called them regarding an extension for my benefits which I only have 3 more payments left. The lady informed me their are no extentions at the moment and I won't be able to reapply until September 2017. I can only hope that the 2 jobs I applied for contact me and hire me before my unemployment money runs out!

After trying to Edd 25x I figure I give this a try. I filled out a continued benefits and still have not received my money. I called this number and after pressing the 0 5x I got through to someone but she transferred me to the regular queue and I’m back to square one. I’m I doing something wrong??

January 2019 - The 213 number trick still works in LA. Had to press 0 a lot and wait on hold for about 30 minutes total, but the operator listened to my issue then transferred me to an adjuster who helped me. Thank you!

This didn't work for me unfortunately, I tried every trick suggested on this website without success :-( I also tried contacting EDD through Umployment Online, but I never got a response back to any of my emails in 2 weeks.
